As you may have noticed by the date of our last blog post, I've been battling a bout of writer's block. I've had plenty of ideas for posts and even got halfway through a few drafts, but nothing has felt quite right to publish. Since I started blogging years ago, I promised myself I would be patient for the right inspiration to come rather than forcing it. Although I felt some doubts trickle in as the days passed by, I'm glad I waited and stuck to my rule.

A nagging voice in the back of my mind tells me I shouldn't be writing this blog post. As I type, in my kitchen there is a crock pot half full of leftover chicken dinner that needs packaged for lunch tomorrow and cleaned. And yet I'm choosing to let it sit on the counter. As a little girl, the things I dreamed of accomplishing as an adult were different than most other children. Instead of imagining my future career, spouse, and home or dreaming about my wedding day, there were little things I envisioned for myself. A tree house for my kids. My own space in the woods where I could run wild like I did as a child, spending hot summer days free to play in the river bottoms and fishing whenever I pleased. A horse in the backyard...
